Food Prep & Server / VR Experience Guide (Part Time)
Pelagos VR is looking for a friendly, energetic team member to join our team at Pelagos VR at Regency Square Mall in Richmond.
Pelagos VR delivers immersive experiences unlike anything else in Richmond. But the technology is only part of what makes a visit special. Our team creates the welcoming, upbeat atmosphere that turns a VR session into a memorable night out.

About the Role
This position is primarily focused on food preparation and guest service.
You will be responsible for preparing and delivering food and beverages while creating a positive, engaging experience for our guests. Food and beverage service is an important part of what makes a Pelagos visit memorable, and we take pride in providing friendly, attentive service.
In addition to food service responsibilities, you will also receive training on Pelagos VR experiences. Over time, this training will allow you to assist guests as a Virtual Reality Experience Guide, helping them choose experiences, understand the equipment, and feel comfortable as they begin their VR adventure.
What You’ll Do
During your shift, you may help with a variety of tasks, including:
FOOD PREP & BEVERAGE SERVICE
- Prepare and deliver food & drinks to guests
- Answer questions about menu items
- Ensure food allergies and dietary restrictions are addressed
- Maintain clean, organized food prep and service areas
GUEST HOSPITALITY
- Create a welcoming and upbeat environment for guests
- Communicate clearly and positively with customers
- Help ensure that every group has a great experience at Pelagos
OPERATIONS SUPPORT
- Process customer payments
- Maintain cleanliness of food prep areas and equipment
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
VIRTUAL REALITY GUEST SUPPORT
After training, you may also help guests with parts of their VR experience, including:
- Recommending VR experiences based on guest interests
- Helping guests through the booking and waiver process
- Briefing players on equipment and safety instructions
- Providing basic gameplay guidance and support as a Game Master
Compensation
Starting pay is $17 per hour, with an accelerated advancement program that can move team members to $20 per hour within 18 months
After 3 months, guides are also eligible for an additional incentive program based on business performance and customer feedback.
What We’re Looking For
STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Friendly, outgoing team members who enjoy interacting with guests.
TEAM MINDSET: We’re a small team, so flexibility and a willingness to help wherever needed is important.
ABILITY TO LEARN AND FOLLOW TRAINING: All team members receive training on company process, safety procedures, and VR experiences.
PHYSICAL STAMINA: This role involves being on your feet for most of your shift and occasionally lifting items up to 40 pounds.
Schedule
- Evening and weekend shifts are expected
- All work is performed on site at Pelagos VR at Regency Square Mall in Richmond VA
